With WebSimHockey, the players have attributes that represent the type of player
they are. Those attributes are generated using the last 2 NHL season.
Those attributes are not static. They constantly evolve throughout the seasons.
There are two types of players attributes evolution:
WEBSIM EVOLUTION
- The players attributes are re-evaluated twice a year: at mid-season and
at the end of the season.
- The Simulator calculates the player evolution using the following criterias:
age, investment in player development and luck.
- The player evolution does not take into account the player's performances in the
NHL or in WebSimHockey.
That mode allow you to have a better control on your team because it is possible
to determine in advance how good your player will be in the future. The
"Potential" attribute represents the player's value at the age of 30 years old.
With this mode, you do not need to follow the NHL activities to have success in
your league.
NHL EVOLUTION
- The players attributes are re-evaluated once a year, at the end of the
season.
- The players attributes evolution is based on the NHL player's performances only.
- At the end of the WebSimHockey season, the players attributes are updated using
the last completed NHL season.
- Any league using this mode will need to wait the end of the current NHL season
before being able to continue with their next season.
This mode adds an edge to the game because the GMs need to know the exact value
of the players in the NHL. The evolution is unpredictable but can be very
rewarding if you know the game very well.
You will need to follow the NHL activities carefully to make sure your players
are performing well. It will be your duty to take tough decisions if a player is
underachieving.
